Enshrouded leaves Early Access on 15 October 2026, after just under three years on Steam. On our end, your server moves to 1.0 on its own. Here is what Keen Games has actually written, with dates, and what is left to check on launch day.

What is not (as of the evening of 15 October 2026)
- Group passwords, tested in game. The 1.0 server accepts our configuration (one password for players, one for the admin), and Keen writes that dedicated server groups work as before. Proving it takes a game client: we have not done that yet.
- PS5 players joining a dedicated server. There is no crossplay at launch (FAQ of 13 October): our servers are PC servers, and only PC players can join them.
Your server switches to 1.0 on its own
On our end, Enshrouded always follows the latest published version: nothing is frozen in the image, and the server downloads the game again from SteamCMD on every start (see the guide, §2). If your server is off on 15 October, it boots straight into 1.0. If it is still running Early Access, a restart from your dashboard is enough.
What a launch week for four costs
Example: four friends, five 3-hour evenings in release week, so 15 billed hours.
| Machine | Price | The week |
|---|---|---|
| Eco, 16 GB (the one we recommend) | €0.06/h | €0.90, under €0.25 per player |
| Dedicated CPU, 16 GB | €0.13/h | €1.95 |
- If this is your first server with us, the first hour is free on eco 16 GB: the week then comes to €0.84.
- We bill each started hour: a 3 h 10 evening counts as 4 hours.
- The price does not depend on how many players join, and a server that is off costs €0. If the group takes a break the week after, you pay nothing.
Launch day
What we checked on the evening of 15 October, on our pre-production, with a server created during Early Access and restarted after release:
- The 1.0 server crashed at launch with the image we were using (a Steam “Version Mismatch”, under Proton). We fixed it that evening by switching to Wine, shipped around 18:15 (Paris time), before any customer's first 1.0 start.
- Your Early Access world carries over: the game converts it on first start (new
world0.ksdfile) and moves the original intomigrated/. On our side, the archive from before the update is set aside. - Start-up in 10 min 42 on eco 16 GB on launch night, 4 minutes of which went into downloading the game's 8.1 GB: Steam was busy.
- Ports do not change: query port 15637 answers, and the server advertises its 16 slots.
Every number, the crash in detail and the fix if you host it yourself: Enshrouded 1.0 dedicated server, what we measured.
