Your Valheim world map

Drop your world's folder and see its map: terrain, what you've explored, your bases, portals, dungeons, runestones and bosses. Everything is read in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Valheim 1.0 or later. Your world stays on your computer: it is never uploaded or kept.

Where is my world's folder?

Each world is a folder named after it. Drop that folder, or the folder that holds them all.

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local

Paste this path into File Explorer's address bar: the AppData folder is hidden by default.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local

In Finder: Go > Go to Folder (Cmd+Shift+G), then paste this path. The Library folder is hidden by default.

World saved in Steam Cloud
Steam\userdata\<ID>\892970\remote\worlds

In Steam's install folder; <ID> is your Steam account number.

Linux and Steam Deck
~/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local

A hidden folder in your home directory.

Dedicated server at a host
worlds_local/<…>

Download the world's folder from your host (FTP or file manager), then drop it here.

FAQ

Is my world uploaded anywhere?

No. The files are read by your browser, on your computer. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the world's player list isn't even read.

Why is part of the map hidden?

Just like in the game, areas nobody has visited stay in the fog. The eye button reveals the whole world, unexplored places included — mind the spoilers.

Does it work with a modded world?

Yes for your bases, portals and places, which come from the save. The terrain is recomputed from the seed the way the unmodded game does it, so a mod that changes world generation makes it wrong.

How is this different from a seed map?

A seed map shows the world as it is generated. Here you also see your playthrough: what you explored, your builds, your named portals, your beds and the bosses you already beat.
