The Fun Pimps marked 7 Days to Die V3.4.0 as stable on 26 October 2026, three days after it landed in experimental. It is a quality of life update, not an overhaul: your world carries on, and the studio does not ask you to start a new one.
What changes in the game
The full list is in the studio's announcement. What matters for a multiplayer game:
- A search bar and filters in your backpack and in containers: type an item's name, or filter by category. Handy in the middle of a horde.
- A lost or stuck drone can now be recovered from a trader.
- In multiplayer, the "boosted" icon no longer shows on items that are not boosted.
- The game launches again on macOS with Easy Anti-Cheat enabled.
What breaks: shared quests
The studio lists a known bug, not fixed yet: a multiplayer game can crash because of a shared quest started before V3.4. The workaround, for every player in the group:
- Before joining, in Options → General → General, turn off "Auto-Party with Allies", "Auto Share Quests", or both.
- Join the game and delete from your log the shareable quests started before V3.4. Leave the ones at the "Turn in" stage alone: they are not a problem.
- Once the whole group has cleaned up, turn both options back on.
This happens in each player's game: we cannot do it for you from the server.
Two other known bugs affect multiplayer: on Mac, a client set to French cannot join a game (dedicated server or peer to peer), and changing the macOS language freezes the game. A new game may also hit an error while generating chunk decorations.
On TickServ: nothing to do
Your 7 Days to Die server updates the game from Steam every time it starts, on the public branch: a server that is switched off comes back straight on V3.4. The ports (26900 to 26902) and the location of your world are unchanged.
A server left running since before 26 October is still on V3.3, while Steam has updated your players' games: stop it and start it again from your dashboard.
What a night for four costs
Example: four friends, one 3 hour evening, on Eco 8 GB (the size we recommend for 7 Days to Die with four players).
| Machine | Price | The evening |
|---|---|---|
| Eco, 8 GB | €0.03/h | €0.09, under 3 cents per player |
| Eco, 16 GB | €0.06/h | €0.18 |
| Dedicated CPU, 16 GB | €0.13/h | €0.39 |
- If it is your first server with us, the first hour is free: the evening then comes to €0.06 on Eco 8 GB.
- We bill each hour started: a 3 h 10 evening counts as 4 hours.
- The price does not depend on the number of players, and a stopped server costs €0. Stopped, it also freezes the world clock: the Blood Moon does not arrive while nobody is playing.
What this does not fix
- The shared quest bug is still for the studio to fix; until then, only the workaround above avoids it.
- The bug on Macs set to French is also waiting for a fix from the studio, with no workaround announced.
- No experimental branch and no going back to V3.3 with us: your server follows the stable version the studio publishes.
