Set up a dedicated Valheim server

A dedicated Valheim server lets you explore the tenth world with your friends anytime, without leaving your PC on. Here's how to launch one in minutes, billed by the hour.

1. Create the server

Pick Valheim at creation, along with the RAM and performance. The server starts in a few minutes; you get a stable connection address to share.

2. The password

Valheim requires a server password (at least 5 characters). It's generated automatically and shown in your console — pass it to your group along with the address.

3. Joining the game

In Valheim: Join Game → Join by IP, paste the address and password. Crossplay (Steam / Xbox / Game Pass) works as long as everyone enables it on their client.

4. How much RAM?

  • Small group (2-4 players): 4 GB is enough.
  • Large group (5-10) or a big explored map: 8 GB to stay smooth.

You can change tier whenever you want, without losing your game.

5. Shut down when you're done

Server off = €0. Your world and characters are saved on shutdown and restored on the next start. Auto-shutdown kicks in on its own when nobody is connected — you never pay for an empty server.

Create your Valheim server. Your first session is free.
