Set up a multiplayer Factorio server
A dedicated Factorio server keeps your factory running for the whole group and lets you pick up your megabase whenever you want. Here's how to launch one in minutes, billed by the hour.
1. Create the server
Pick Factorio at creation, along with the RAM and performance. The server starts in a few minutes and shows a connection address.
2. Joining the game
In Factorio: Play → Multiplayer → Connect to address, paste the address shown in your console. Your friends join the same way.
3. How much RAM?
Factorio is mostly CPU-bound (UPS), but a large factory also uses memory:
- Small or medium factory: 4 GB.
- Large factory or megabase: 8 GB, plus the dedicated CPU tier to keep the pace.
4. Admin console (RCON)
The built-in RCON console gives you access to server commands (save, set speed, manage players) straight from your TickServ console, without leaving the game.
5. Import and keep your game
You can import an existing game by uploading its .zip file at creation. After that, your save is archived before every shutdown and restored in the next session — pick up your megabase intact.
Create your Factorio server. Your first session is free.
