Migrating an existing Minecraft world to your server
Already have a world — on your PC, on LAN, or with another host — and want to pick it back up on TickServ? The import happens at creation, in a few clicks.
1. Grab your world folder
- From your PC / a single-player world: the
worldfolder is in.minecraft/saves/<name>. - From another host: download the
worldfolder (andworld_nether/world_the_endif they exist) via its file manager.
2. Prepare the archive
Zip the folder(s) at the root of the archive: the archive must contain a world/ folder (not an extra parent folder). Accepted formats: .zip or .tar.gz.
3. Import at creation
When you create the Minecraft server, use the "Import a world" field and select your archive. It's loaded on the first startup — your game picks up exactly where you left off.
4. Check the RAM and the type
If your world is modded, remember to recreate the same context: paste the matching modpack and choose a suitable RAM (8 GB+ for a modded world). For a very large world or lots of players, the dedicated CPU tier helps.
Good to know
- The world is then saved automatically before every shutdown and restored for the next session.
- The import is capped at the VM's disk size (large) — a classic vanilla or modded world fits without any trouble.
Create your Minecraft server and import your world at the creation step.
